MONSOON BIRD'S NEST COOKING GUIDE

Cook time

10-15 min

What you need

Bowl, Scale, Timer, Stew pot, Sifter

Amount

~5 gram/person/serving

Ingredient

STEP 1

Store dry bird’s nest in a sealed container in well ventilated area or fridge at 41F. Prepare appropriate amount (5g/serving), wash before soaking.

STEP 2

Soak for 1-2 hours until soft and translucent. Use Scissor to trim or hand shred the corner part of the Bird’s nest and soak separately to prevent over soaking.

*Do not over soak the bird’s nest, once it begins to soften and turns translucent, immediately proceed to the next step to prevent melting during stewing process.

STEP 3

Sift and wash soaked bird’s nest. Soaked weight will be 6-7 times of dry bird’s nest weight.

STEP 4

Place bird’s nest into stew pot. Add water 0.5 inch over the nest. Put stew pot into another pot. Add water to half of stew pot height and stew for about 10-15 minutes.

STEP 5

The stewed bird’s nest should be gelatinous and have a protein fragrance. For best results, consume in the morning on an empty stomach. Add ingredients like fruits & milk per your preference.

STEP 6

For any leftovers, place the bird’s nest into a sealed container and store in the fridge. Consume within 3 days.
